Himachal Pradesh is once again witnessing a shift in weather, bringing a mix of scenic snowfall and cautionary alerts. The higher reaches of the state have received fresh snowfall, while several lower and mid-hill regions are experiencing light to moderate rainfall.

In the tribal district of Lahaul and Spiti, isolated areas were covered in a fresh blanket of snow, offering a picturesque view but also signaling changing weather conditions. At the same time, rainfall activity has picked up across multiple districts. Solan recorded the highest rainfall at 18.4 mm, followed by Manali (14 mm) and Bhuntar (8 mm). Shimla, Mandi, and Kangra also saw light showers, receiving around 4 mm each.

According to the Meteorological Department, this active weather pattern is not over yet. The state is expected to continue experiencing rain and snowfall until April 4, with conditions likely to intensify in the coming days.

An orange alert has been issued for Shimla, Mandi, and Kullu on March 30. This indicates the possibility of severe weather conditions, including hailstorms, thunderstorms, lightning, and strong gusty winds in isolated areas. Residents in these regions are advised to stay cautious and limit unnecessary travel during peak weather activity.

Meanwhile, a yellow alert is in place for Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, and Chamba districts. These areas may witness thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds, although the intensity is expected to be comparatively lower than orange alert regions.

Weather experts suggest that April 3 and 4 could see a further increase in activity, with more widespread rainfall and snowfall across Himachal Pradesh. Travelers and locals alike should stay updated with official advisories, especially those planning trips to higher altitude areas.

While the snowfall adds to the natural beauty of the hills, the accompanying weather conditions demand awareness and preparedness. As Himachal transitions through this active phase, keeping an eye on updates could make all the difference.
