Amid concerns triggered by the ongoing tensions in the Middle East, the Himachal Pradesh government has reassured residents that there is no shortage of petrol, diesel, or domestic LPG in the state.

Chief Secretary Sanjay Gupta on Wednesday said that Himachal Pradesh currently has adequate stock of essential petroleum products, and citizens should not panic about fuel availability.

During a review meeting held to assess the state’s fuel and LPG supply situation, Gupta said that the overall stock position remains stable across Himachal Pradesh. However, he noted that commercial LPG cylinder supply has been slightly affected due to the evolving international situation.

According to officials, around 15,000 commercial LPG cylinders are currently available in the state. These cylinders are being supplied as needed to hotels, restaurants, and other commercial establishments.

The government has also ensured that essential institutions are receiving priority supply. Hospitals—both government and private—as well as educational institutions are being given preference to make sure their services continue smoothly without any disruption.

While reviewing the district-wise fuel availability, the Chief Secretary directed officials to maintain uninterrupted supply of petrol, diesel, and LPG across all districts.

He also appealed to the public not to panic or make unnecessary LPG bookings, especially based on rumors or misleading information circulating on social media platforms.

Gupta emphasized that domestic LPG stocks are sufficient, and consumers should remain calm and avoid panic buying.

To maintain close monitoring of the situation, the Chief Secretary instructed all Deputy Commissioners to conduct daily reviews of fuel supply and distribution in their respective districts.

The meeting was also attended by Additional Chief Secretary RD Nazim and Director of Food and Civil Supplies Ram Kumar Gautam, who reviewed supply mechanisms and preparedness to handle any potential disruption.

Officials reiterated that the state administration is closely monitoring the situation and taking all necessary steps to ensure that residents face no shortage of fuel or cooking gas.
