Gupta, who will become the 30th Governor of Himachal Pradesh, arrived in the state capital along with his wife Bindu Gupta. Several senior leaders and dignitaries gathered at Lok Bhavan to greet the couple and extend their best wishes.
Among those present were Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania, Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, and Leader of the Opposition Jai Ram Thakur, along with other prominent officials.
During the reception ceremony, Chief Minister Sukhu honoured Gupta and his wife with traditional Himachali cap, shawl, and a commemorative memento, reflecting the state’s rich cultural traditions.
Speaking to mediapersons after the welcome ceremony, Gupta expressed gratitude for the warm reception and emphasized his commitment to the development of Himachal Pradesh.
“We will move forward collectively for the welfare and progress of Himachal by taking all sections of society along. Serving as Governor is both a great responsibility and a challenge, and I will strive to fulfil it with dedication,” Gupta said.
The oath-taking ceremony will take place on March 10, marking the beginning of Gupta’s tenure as the constitutional head of the hill state.
