Sangla Valley Celebrates Vibrant Holi Festival, Pledges to Preserve Tribal Heritage in Kinnaur

Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi attended the ceremony as the chief guest and addressed the gathering. Speaking on the occasion, he said that Holi is not just a festival of colours but also a reflection of India’s rich traditions and cultural heritage.
The minister urged the youth of the tribal district of Kinnaur to take pride in their roots. He emphasized that even in the fast-paced era of modern technology, it is important for young generations to stay connected to their customs and traditions.
Jagat Singh Negi also highlighted the state government’s commitment to preserving and promoting tribal culture. According to him, cultural festivals like these play a crucial role in attracting tourists to the region and strengthening the local economy.
He added that the government is working continuously to promote tourism in border areas of Kinnaur, which will create new opportunities for local residents and support the region’s economic growth.
The festival concluded with enthusiastic participation from the local community, showcasing traditional customs and strengthening the cultural identity of the valley.
Several dignitaries were present on the occasion, including Deputy Commissioner of Kinnaur Dr Amit Kumar Sharma, Superintendent of Police Sushil Kumar Sharma, SDM Kalpa Amit Kalthaik, Director of Agricultural Produce Market Committee Shimla-Kinnaur Umesh Negi, Kinfed Chairman Chandra Gopal Negi, Pooh Block Congress leader Prem Negi, and Kalpa Congress Block President Pritam Negi.
The celebration once again highlighted Sangla Valley as a place where vibrant traditions and community spirit continue to thrive.
