In a significant administrative move, the Himachal Pradesh government on Saturday ordered the transfer of one IAS officer, two IPS officers and ten HPPS officers with immediate effect. The reshuffle is being seen as part of routine governance adjustments aimed at strengthening administrative efficiency across the state.
An official notification confirming the changes was issued by the government earlier in the day.
IAS Officer Given Additional Responsibilities
2008-batch IAS officer Ashish Singhmar, who is currently serving as Secretary, Digital Technologies and Governance, has been assigned additional charge as Secretary (General Administration Department) and Secretary, Human Rights Commission, Shimla.
The move places key governance and administrative responsibilities under his leadership, signaling the government’s focus on coordinated digital and administrative reforms.
IPS-Level Changes in Kangra and Dharamsala
Among IPS officers, 2012-batch officer Khushal Chand Sharma, who was serving as Commandant of the 2nd Indian Reserve Battalion in Sakoh (Kangra), has now been transferred as Principal of the Police Training College in Daroh (Kangra).
Following this appointment, Soumya Sambasivan, Deputy Inspector General of Police (Northern Range), Dharamsala, has been relieved of the additional charge of the Police Training College.
In another important order, the government assigned the additional charge of Superintendent of Police (SP), Special Task Force, to Kangra SP Ashok Rattan. With this, Dr Khushal Chand Sharma has been relieved of this responsibility.

More updates are expected as the newly appointed officers assume charge in their respective positions.
