Himachal Pradesh : Fake govt calendar circulated on social media; FIR registered

The State CID (Cybercrime Cell) has registered an FIR against unknown persons for allegedly circulating fake, misleading and malicious posts on social media related to the 2026 government calendar printed by the Printing and Stationery Department.

A spokesperson of the department said that the calendar being circulated online had been deliberately edited and tampered with. He added that original dates were distorted and presented in an unrealistic manner to mislead the public.

“The content has been manipulated with the intention of creating confusion and spreading misinformation. Such acts are unethical, illegal and have caused damage to the reputation of the department,” the spokesperson said.

The department has appealed to people not to believe such fake and misleading posts circulating on Facebook or other social media platforms. Citizens have also been urged not to post, forward or share such content in any form.
