The rich traditional craftsmanship nurtured in the hills of Himachal Pradesh is set to find wider markets as the Him MSME Fest is scheduled to be organised in Shimla from January 3 to 5. The event will place the state’s One District One Product (ODOP) initiative at centre stage, creating new opportunities for local products to reach national and global markets.
Industry Minister Harshvardhan Chauhan said the ODOP initiative is giving fresh momentum to district-level economies by blending traditional skills with modern market linkages. He said the scheme is helping create sustainable livelihood opportunities for farmers, artisans and small entrepreneurs across the state.
The minister added that ODOP reflects the state government’s value-based approach to industrial development. “By focusing on agro-based processing, handicrafts, manufacturing and service sectors, the initiative is empowering local talent and unlocking economic potential at the grassroots level,” he said.
The three-day festival is expected to showcase Himachal’s diverse products while providing a platform for entrepreneurs to connect with buyers, investors and industry experts.
