Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said 2025 would be remembered as a year of proud milestones for India, underlining the country’s growing impact across national security, sports, science and global platforms.
Addressing the final Mann Ki Baat of 2025, the Prime Minister highlighted Operation Sindoor, calling it a symbol of national pride and a clear message to the world that India does not compromise on its security.
“The year 2025 was one of proud milestones for India. Whether it is national security, sports, scientific innovation or the world’s biggest platforms, India’s impact was visible everywhere,” Modi said.
Recalling Operation Sindoor, he said it evoked powerful expressions of love and devotion towards Maa Bharti from across the country. “The world witnessed clearly that today’s India does not compromise on its security,” he added.
Modi also referred to the completion of 150 years of ‘Vande Mataram’, noting enthusiastic public participation in the nationwide campaign launched with the hashtag #VandeMataram150.
Highlighting sporting achievements, he said 2025 had been a memorable year, with the men’s cricket team winning the ICC Champions Trophy and the women’s team lifting the World Cup for the first time. He also lauded India’s daughters for scripting history by winning the Women’s Blind T20 World Cup, the Asia Cup T20 triumph and medal-winning performances by para-athletes at world championships.
In science and space, Modi said India took a giant leap as Shubhanshu Shukla became the first Indian to reach the International Space Station, adding that global admiration for India is driven largely by the strength of its youth.
“Nations across the world are deeply impressed by our achievements in science, constant innovation and technological expansion,” he said.
Touching upon environmental conservation, the Prime Minister said the cheetah population in India crossed 30 in 2025.
He concluded by noting that faith, culture and heritage came together during the year. “The Prayagraj Mahakumbh at the beginning of the year amazed the world, and the Dhwajarohan ceremony at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya at the end of the year filled every Indian with pride,” Modi said.
