Youth Services, Sports and Ayush Minister Yadvinder Goma, who attended the event as the chief guest, said such festivals play a crucial role in promoting tourism, providing a platform to local artistes and generating employment opportunities for the youth. He noted that the carnival beautifully blends Himachal Pradesh’s rich folk traditions with contemporary art forms, strengthening the local economy and cultural identity.
The evening’s highlight was an electrifying performance by popular singer Kumar Sahil, which had the audience cheering and singing along. Performances by Nidhi Rastogi, Tanura Dance Troupe, Nitish Rajput and Divya Bhatt further added to the festive spirit, keeping the crowd engaged throughout the night.
Adding a strong cultural flavour to the Bollywood-themed evening, traditional folk dances such as Sirmaur Nati and Mandi Nati were also performed, showcasing the vibrant heritage of the hill state.
With its mix of modern entertainment and traditional culture, the Kangra Valley Carnival continues to attract large crowds, reinforcing Dharamsala’s growing reputation as a major cultural and tourism destination.
