Chamba News : Dog bite awareness programme held at DAV Hardaspura, students briefed on first aid and rabies risks
A dog bite awareness programme was organised at DAV Public School, Hardaspura, Chamba, where students were educated on prevention, first aid and rabies awareness.
A dog bite awareness programme was organised at DAV Public School, Hardaspura, in Chamba district today in collaboration with the local Veterinary Department. The initiative aimed to educate students about the risks associated with dog bites, preventive measures and the importance of timely first aid.
Dr Diksha from the Veterinary Department addressed the students and shared crucial information in a simple and effective manner. She explained the immediate steps to be taken in case of a dog bite, emphasising the need to remain calm, wash the wound thoroughly with soap and clean water, and seek prompt medical attention.
She also sensitised students about rabies, highlighting its seriousness and the importance of prevention. Dr Diksha advised students to maintain a safe distance from unfamiliar or aggressive dogs, avoid teasing animals and follow responsible and safe behaviour around animals.
The students participated enthusiastically in the session and actively raised questions related to their concerns. The school administration thanked the Veterinary Department for organising the awareness programme, describing it as highly beneficial for ensuring the health and safety of students.
At the conclusion of the programme, students were encouraged to stay alert, safe and vigilant in their daily interactions with animals.
