Himachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri on Tuesday inaugurated a newly constructed community health centre at Beetan village in the Haroli subdivision. The 10-bed facility has been named after local spiritual leader Sadguru Lal Das Brahmanand Bhooriwaale.

Addressing a gathering on the occasion, Agnihotri said the state government was continuously strengthening health infrastructure in the Haroli Assembly segment. He informed that 15 specialist doctors had already been posted at the Civil Hospital in the area and directed the Chief Medical Officer to ensure the installation of an X-ray machine at the newly inaugurated health centre to improve diagnostic facilities.

Highlighting road infrastructure development, the Deputy Chief Minister said that Rs 500 crore would be spent under the PM Gati Shakti Scheme following the National Master Plan model to strengthen and widen the existing road connecting Santoshgarh in Himachal Pradesh with Jaijon in Punjab. He said the proposed four-lane road would also enhance connectivity to the upcoming bulk drug park, boosting regional industrial growth.

Agnihotri further announced that a drinking water scheme worth Rs 175 crore had been initiated to lift water from the Satluj river near Bhabour Sahib to the higher reaches of the Haroli segment. He said that within the next two years, all households in the area would be provided with drinking water, while farmers would also receive irrigation facilities.

The Deputy Chief Minister noted that traditional village water bodies had dried up over time due to changing lifestyles and increased dependence on piped water supply. Emphasising their ecological importance, he said such ponds play a vital role in sustaining local flora and fauna. To address this, the government is spending Rs 20 crore on the rejuvenation and beautification of village ponds across the Haroli region.
