Hiamchal Pradesh Weather : Snowfall, Light Rain Likely in Himachal’s Higher Reaches from December 20
Light snowfall and rain are likely in Himachal Pradesh’s higher reaches on December 20, while dense fog warning has been issued for parts of Mandi and Bilaspur.
The higher reaches of Himachal Pradesh are likely to witness snowfall and light rain on December 20, bringing a change after several dry days. According to the State Meteorological Department, weather across the state will remain largely dry till December 19, after which isolated areas in the higher hills are expected to receive light snow and rainfall.
The department has also issued a yellow alert for dense fog during the early morning hours on December 15 and 16 in parts of the Balh Valley in Mandi district and around the Bhakra Dam reservoir area in Bilaspur district.
Minimum temperatures across the state are expected to drop by 2°C to 4°C over the next few days, while maximum temperatures are likely to rise by a similar margin.
Over the past 24 hours, weather conditions remained mostly dry across Himachal Pradesh. Minimum temperatures at several locations were recorded 2°C to 4°C above normal, ranging from minus 4°C to 12°C. Meanwhile, maximum temperatures were 2°C to 6°C below normal in the low hills and plains, and largely normal in the mid and higher hill regions, ranging between 9°C and 24°C.
Shimla recorded a minimum temperature of 9.8°C, while Dharamsala registered 7°C. Manali recorded 2.3°C, Kangra 7.8°C, Mandi 7.3°C, Solan 3.3°C, Bilaspur 8.5°C, Hamirpur 6.9°C, Kalpa 2.4°C, Sundernagar and Bhuntar 5.6°C each, Nahan 9°C, Kufri 8.4°C, Paonta Sahib 10°C, Narkanda 6.4°C and Reckong Peo 3.7°C.
Una was the hottest place in the state with a maximum temperature of 24°C, while Kukumseri village in Lahaul and Spiti district recorded the lowest minimum temperature at minus 4.3°C.
