Kandaghat Police Nab Two Kasauli Youths With 413g Cannabis in Swift Operation
Kandaghat Police arrested two youths from Kasauli with 413g of cannabis following a tip-off during patrol duty. An FIR has been registered under the NDPS Act as investigators probe the supply network.
In a swift and targeted action against drug trafficking, the Kandaghat Police on Wednesday evening arrested two youths from Kasauli after recovering a substantial quantity of cannabis from their vehicle.
Solan SP Gaurav Singh said that during routine patrolling, the police received a tip-off about two individuals travelling from Shimla to Solan with a consignment of cannabis. Acting promptly, the team intercepted the car and apprehended Karan (22) and Shahrukh Khan (30), both residents of Bathol village near Dharampur.
A total of 413g of cannabis was seized from their possession. An FIR under Sections 20 and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act has been lodged at the Kandaghat police station. Investigators are now probing the backward and forward links of the supply chain.
The vehicle used by the accused has also been impounded. Both were produced before the court today, and their previous criminal history is being examined as part of the ongoing inquiry, the SP added.
