Shimla’s Iconic Ice Skating Rink Reopens on December 4: Winter Sessions and Carnival Plans Announced
Shimla’s historic Ice Skating Rink will officially open for winter sessions on December 4, following successful trial runs. Morning skating sessions will begin immediately, with evening sessions to follow once temperatures drop further. The club also plans to host a skating carnival later in December, weather permitting.
Ice skating at Shimla’s historic Ice Skating Rink will officially resume on December 4, after successful trial runs conducted on Wednesday.
Nearly 10 skaters took part in the trial session, following which the Shimla Ice Skating Club confirmed that regular sessions would begin from Thursday.
Rajat Malhotra, General Secretary of the club, said that only morning sessions will be held initially. “Evening sessions will start once daytime temperatures fall further and the ice quality improves,” he noted.
He added that the club is also planning to host a skating carnival in the last week of December, depending on weather conditions.
