Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh:
As frustration intensifies across the state, BJP State Social Media Co-Convenor Shrey Awasthi has issued a powerful call urging citizens to participate in the massive protest scheduled for 4th December 2025 at Zorawar Stadium, Dharamshala. The demonstration is set to be one of the largest public mobilisations in recent years, aimed at holding the Congress government accountable for what Awasthi calls “failed guarantees, misgovernance, and betrayal of public trust.”

Awasthi highlighted that the Congress government came to power promising transformation and relief for every section of society. However, three years later, the situation tells a different story—one marked by unfulfilled promises, policy paralysis, and growing public disillusionment.

“People were given guarantees. Today, all they are receiving are excuses,” Awasthi remarked. “The government has failed the youth, women, farmers, horticulturists, cattle rearers, employees, and even the most marginalised households.”

Below is a detailed look at the major guarantees versus the harsh realities people are facing today.

A Healthcare System Built on Empty Claims

Among the most publicised promises was the introduction of free mobile medical clinics in every village. The initiative was marketed as a revolution in rural healthcare.

But the reality is alarming

Not a single functional mobile clinic reached any village. Residents continue to depend on distant hospitals and inadequate facilities, turning the promise into a symbol of the government’s administrative failure.

Cattle Rearers Left in Distress

Cattle owners were promised daily procurement of milk at attractive rates—

  • 180 Rs. per litre for cow milk
  • 100 Rs. per litre for buffalo milk

Yet, nothing materialised.
Farmers received neither the procurement support nor the promised rates, pushing thousands of cattle rearers into financial hardship and disappointment.

Youth Betrayed: No Startup Fund, No Opportunities

The youth were promised a ₹680 crore Startup Fund to promote innovation and entrepreneurship. This announcement generated hope among thousands of aspiring young entrepreneurs.

However, as Awasthi pointed out, not a single rupee has been allocated. No framework, no process, no implementation—only political speeches and promotional material. The promise remains completely unfulfilled.

Electricity Prices Skyrocket Despite Grand Promises

Electricity consumers were told they would receive 300 units of free power, a promise welcomed by households across the state.

But the truth unfolded differently:

The 300 units promise was scrapped,

The existing 125-unit relief was removed,

And electricity tariffs saw a steep rise, burdening already struggling families.

This has become one of the most glaring examples of the government’s retreat from its own commitments.

Horticulturists Continue to Suffer

The Congress assured horticulturists that they would be empowered to determine prices for their produce. This was expected to protect apple growers and fruit farmers from market volatility.

Yet no policy was drafted, no steps were taken, and the community continues to suffer from unstable prices and governmental apathy.

Women Still Waiting for Their Promised Rs.1500

A promise that gained massive attention during the elections was the assurance of ₹1500 per month to every woman in the state.

But to date, lakhs of women across Himachal Pradesh continue to wait. The promise has not been implemented, leaving women disillusioned and betrayed by the government’s inaction.

  • Unemployment Soars: Job Creation Promise Turns Into Job Cuts
  • Instead of creating the promised 5 lakh jobs, the government:
  • Terminated thousands of employees,
  • Dissolved posts, and
  • Delayed or disrupted recruitment processes.

Awasthi stressed that this betrayal has crushed the hopes of the youth, many of whom trusted the government’s promises of employment and security.

Education Promises Completely Abandoned

The government had guaranteed four English-medium schools in every Assembly constituency.

Yet, not a single such school has been opened. The gap between promise and reality has further exposed the administration’s inability—or unwillingness—to deliver.

A Call for Collective Action

Awasthi emphasised that these issues are not isolated slip-ups but part of a larger pattern of deep-rooted misgovernance. He appealed to citizens from all sections of society—youth, women, farmers, horticulturists, cattle rearers, employees, and households—to unite and raise their voice.

He urged everyone to gather in full strength at:

Date: 4 December 2025
Venue: Zorawar Stadium, Dharamshala

“This protest is not just a political message,” Awasthi declared. “It is a collective stand against deception, exclusion, and administrative collapse. Himachal deserves honesty, responsibility, and real development—not empty speeches.”
