Himachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri criticized IndiGo Airlines after a Delhi–Chandigarh flight, originally scheduled for 8:30 PM, was delayed to 1:30 AM due to the absence of a pilot. Senior Congress leaders expressed frustration, calling the situation unacceptable and demanding better communication and coordination.
Himachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri on Saturday night criticised IndiGo Airlines for a significant delay in the Delhi–Chandigarh flight he was scheduled to board.
In a post on X, Agnihotri said that the 8:30 PM flight had to be rescheduled to 1:30 AM because there was no pilot available. Calling the situation “unacceptable,” he noted that passengers were forced to wait for hours, causing widespread inconvenience.
AICC in-charge for Himachal Pradesh, Rajni Patil, also voiced her displeasure in response to his post.
“Passengers were seated, the engine was ready, but there was no cockpit crew in sight. This is simply unacceptable,” she wrote, stressing that passengers deserve better communication and coordination.
The Congress leader was travelling to Shimla to attend a function where Vinay Kumar will assume charge as the new President of the Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee.
