BJP’s Shrey Awasthi Targets Congress Govt With Viral Poem on “Broken Guarantees”
BJP State Social Media Co-Convenor Shrey Awasthi’s poem criticising the Himachal Congress government for “broken guarantees” and policy failures has gone viral. He questions the state’s priorities, youth welfare, and unfulfilled promises, urging people to join the 4 December Dharamshala rally.
BJP State Social Media Co-Convenor Shrey Awasthi has launched a sharp attack on the Congress government with his poem, “The Betrayal of Guarantees and the Anger of the People.” The piece, which has gone viral across Himachal Pradesh, criticises the government’s performance over the past three years.
In his poem, Awasthi questions what the Congress government has actually delivered for the state’s youth. He argues that almost every segment of society—pensioners, contractors, and common citizens—is under strain, yet the government has not introduced even a single substantial policy aimed at supporting young people in Himachal.
Awasthi also accused the government of reneging on its promise of providing ₹1,500 monthly assistance to women, calling it a serious breach of public trust.
He went on to question the government’s priorities, pointing out that despite the state’s mounting debt and the devastation caused by recent disasters in Mandi and other regions, the administration seems more focused on appointing chairpersons and vice-chairpersons than on relief, rehabilitation, and meaningful governance.
He also challenged the need for celebrating three years in power, asking pointedly: “What has this government actually achieved to justify such celebrations?”
The poem has struck a chord with many citizens, who say it reflects the ground reality with honesty and boldness.
Awasthi has also urged people across Himachal to join the grand rally on 4 December in Dharamshala—a collective stand, he says, against the “failures, betrayals, and misplaced priorities” of the Congress government.
