Himachal Pradesh Weather Update: Snowfall Forecast on December 4–5 as Temperatures Drop Sharply

Himachal Pradesh is expected to see light snowfall in its higher and mid-hill regions on December 4–5 after a spell of dry, sunny weather. Minimum temperatures may fall by 2°C–5°C across the state, making conditions noticeably colder.

Himachal Pradesh, which has been experiencing dry and sunny weather for several days, is expected to see light snowfall on December 4 and 5. According to the state’s meteorological department, dry conditions will continue across the state until December 3. From December 4 onward, light snowfall and rain are likely in the higher mountain regions, while the plains, lower hills and mid-hills are expected to remain dry.

On December 5, light snowfall and scattered rain are likely in some higher and mid-hill areas, while the plains and lower hills are expected to see no precipitation. After that, the weather is projected to turn dry once again across Himachal Pradesh.

Minimum temperatures across the state are expected to drop by 2°C to 5°C in the coming days, leading to colder days and nights. Maximum temperatures are also likely to fall by 2°C to 3°C.

On Saturday, most parts of the state saw bright sunshine and predominantly dry weather. Minimum temperatures ranged from –7°C to 13°C, staying near normal in most places, though some areas recorded temperatures 2°C to 3°C below normal. Maximum temperatures remained close to seasonal averages, varying between 11°C and 29°C, with isolated locations reporting temperatures 2°C to 4°C above normal in the last 24 hours.

Shimla and Dharamshala recorded a minimum of 7°C, while Manali stood at 1.9°C. Other minimum temperatures included Solan at 3.5°C, Kangra at 5.3°C, Mandi at 4.6°C, Bilaspur at 6.5°C, Hamirpur at 4.6°C, Bhuntar at 1°C, Sundernagar at 3.2°C, Kalpa at 0.4°C, Narkanda at 5.6°C, Kukumseri at –4.8°C, Paonta Sahib at 10°C and Nahan at 12.7°C.

With a maximum of 27°C, Una remained the warmest location in the state, while Tabo village in Lahaul-Spiti was the coldest, recording a minimum of –7°C.
