Couple Jumps Into Sutlej River in Kullu; Search Operation Continues
A search operation is underway in Himachal Pradesh’s Kullu district after a couple allegedly jumped into the Sutlej River and was swept away, police said on Thursday.
The missing individuals have been identified as Dhuni Chand (35) and his wife Sonia (27), residents of Batala in Mandi district. The couple had been living in the Anni area, where Dhuni Chand worked at a local hair salon.
According to police, they received a call on Wednesday evening reporting that a couple had jumped into the river and disappeared in the strong current.
A police team immediately reached the spot and, with the help of scouts and local residents, began a search and rescue operation.
Efforts to trace the couple are still underway, officials confirmed. The motive behind their actions is also being investigated.
