A day after the explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort Metro Station, the Himachal Pradesh Police have issued a statewide high alert, tightening security measures across all districts — particularly in border regions and other sensitive areas.

Director General of Police (DGP) Ashok Tiwari has directed all Superintendents of Police (SPs) to remain on heightened alert and strengthen vigilance along border zones and key locations. He instructed officers to keep a close watch on suspicious vehicles, unattended objects, and unusual movements, while ensuring close coordination with local agencies and related departments.

A public advisory has also been issued urging citizens to remain vigilant but avoid panic. The DGP emphasized that maintaining peace and security requires active cooperation from the public.

Residents have been advised to immediately report any suspicious items, abandoned bags, or vehicles to the nearest police station or by dialing the emergency helpline 112. Police have appealed to people to avoid sharing unverified information or rumours on social media and messaging platforms to prevent panic.

The advisory also urges citizens to stay alert in crowded and sensitive areas and to cooperate fully during security checks. Locals have been requested to promptly report any unknown or suspicious individuals or activities observed in their neighborhoods to ensure swift police response.

DGP Tiwari said,

“The state police have strengthened surveillance and security arrangements across all districts, particularly in border and sensitive regions. Timely public reporting and vigilance are crucial for maintaining overall security in the state.”
