A woman was killed and six others were injured after a car plunged into a deep gorge near Khuna village under the Shingla Gram Panchayat area in Shimla district, police said on Friday.
According to officials, the accident occurred when the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle, causing it to skid off the road and fall into the gorge. The woman died on the spot, while six others sustained injuries of varying degrees.
Local residents immediately informed the police, who rushed to the site, rescued the injured, and retrieved the body. The injured were taken to the Mahatma Gandhi Medical Services Complex, Khaneri, where they are undergoing treatment.
Police said that a detailed investigation into the incident is currently underway.
