Three Killed, Two Injured in Road Accident in Chamba
The victims were returning home from a wedding ceremony.
Three people were killed and two others injured after a vehicle plunged nearly 200 meters into a gorge in Himachal Pradesh’s Churah Assembly constituency in Chamba district, police said on Thursday.
The accident occurred on Wednesday evening along the Devikoti–Tepa road as the occupants were returning home from a wedding function.
The deceased were identified as Rajinder Kumar (driver), Pammi Kumar, and Sachin. The injured, Amar Singh and Dharam Singh, were initially taken to the Civil Hospital in Tissa and later referred to the Medical College in Chamba for further treatment.
All five victims were residents of Chamba district.
Local residents rushed to the spot, launched a rescue operation, and informed the police.
Police said the bodies will be handed over to the families after post-mortem examinations on Thursday. A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident.
