India’s Aman Thapa clinches silver; Malaysia’s Mohammad Nafi Bin Sulaiman takes bronze

Chinese paraglider Yang Chen, one of Asia’s leading pilots, won the gold medal in the overall category at the third edition of the Shimla Flying Festival 2025, which concluded today with great enthusiasm and fanfare in Junga. Aman Thapa of India secured the silver medal, while Mohammad Nafi Bin Sulaiman of Malaysia bagged the bronze.

In the team category, Team Sky Legend won gold, followed by Team Chalo Chamba with silver and Team Hexter Kimia with bronze.

In the local category, Iman Rantle emerged as the gold medalist, while Mohan Kumar and Shreyashi Tamang claimed the silver and bronze respectively.

Shimla (Urban) MLA Harish Janartha, who was the chief guest at the closing ceremony, felicitated the winners and congratulated the organizers for successfully hosting an international-level competition in Junga. He praised their efforts in ensuring a safe and well-managed event and noted that such initiatives play a vital role in promoting tourism and adventure sports in Himachal Pradesh.

Festival organizer Arun Rawat extended heartfelt gratitude to all stakeholders, sponsors, officials, pilots, and local supporters for their contribution to the success of the event. He said the festival once again showcased Shimla’s potential as a world-class destination for adventure and eco-tourism.
