Ukrainian Strike Damages Dam in Russia’s Belgorod Region, Governor Says

The governor of Russia’s Belgorod region said on Saturday that Ukraine had attacked a dam at a local reservoir, causing structural damage.

In a statement on Telegram, Vyacheslav Gladkov warned that repeated strikes on the dam could lead to flooding, and advised residents in parts of the border settlements of Shebekino and Bezlyudovka to temporarily leave their homes for safer areas.

The Belgorod region borders Ukraine’s eastern Kharkiv province and has come under frequent attack from Kyiv’s forces since large-scale fighting between the two countries began in 2022.

There was no immediate comment from Ukrainian officials.
