Afghan Government Spokesperson Says Afghanistan and Pakistan to Hold Peace Talks in Doha After Intense Fighting
An Afghan government spokesperson announced that Afghanistan and Pakistan will hold peace talks in Doha on Saturday, following days of intense fighting between the two neighbors. Both countries have agreed to extend their ceasefire.
“In line with the commitment made, talks with the Pakistani side will take place today in Doha,” spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid said in a statement.
He added that a high-level delegation from the Islamic Emirate, led by Defense Minister Mullah Mohammad Yaqoob, has departed for Doha to participate in the discussions.
