Youth to Drive Self-Reliance in the State Through Entrepreneurship: Dharmani
Technical Education Minister Rajesh Dharmani said on Wednesday that a series of programs will be launched across the state’s technical institutions to promote entrepreneurship among youth, in collaboration with the Industries Department and the Himachal Pradesh Housing and Urban Development Authority (HIMUDA).
Chairing a meeting of the Technical Education Department, Dharmani emphasized the crucial role of young people in making Himachal Pradesh self-reliant through entrepreneurship.
“Our youth are full of innovative ideas and energy,” he said. “These initiatives will help nurture leadership skills and give young innovators the opportunity to turn their ideas into practical ventures under the mentorship of industry experts.”
Highlighting emerging sectors such as beauty, health, and fashion, Dharmani noted that partnerships with national brands are helping to train and attract youth toward these industries. He added that curricula are being updated to align with modern industry needs.
“In keeping with the demands of the digital age, a Skill Academy and a Digital University will be established to strengthen the technological and digital capabilities of our youth,” he announced.
Dharmani also stressed the importance of disaster management training in the state, saying that students from industrial training institutes, polytechnics, and engineering colleges would receive hands-on instruction to effectively respond to emergencies.
The meeting was attended by Technical Education Secretary Sandeep Kadam, Director Akshay Sood, and other senior officials.
