Longtime Armani Executive Marsocci Set to Become CEO of the Fashion House, Source Says
Giuseppe Marsocci, Deputy Managing Director at Giorgio Armani, is set to be appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Italian fashion house, a source said on Thursday, confirming a local media report.
According to the source, the appointment is expected to be approved later in the day at a scheduled board meeting.
Marsocci, who has worked with the company for over two decades and currently serves as Global Chief Commercial Officer, according to LinkedIn, will assume the role previously held by the company’s late founder Giorgio Armani, who passed away in September.
As CEO, Marsocci will be responsible for guiding the group through a period of major transition — including the potential sale of a 15% stake. Interested buyers reportedly include luxury conglomerate LVMH (LVMH.PA), beauty giant L’Oréal (OREP.PA), and eyewear leader EssilorLuxottica (ESLX.PA), as well as other groups granted “equal standing” under Armani’s will.
The Giorgio Armani Group declined to comment on the development.
Marsocci had long been viewed as a leading contender for the top job, alongside Daniele Balestrazzi, who has served as Armani’s Chief Operating and Financial Officer since 2015.
Giorgio Armani, who built and tightly controlled his global fashion empire over the past five decades, left behind a company now entering a new structural phase.
Armani’s long-time partner, confidant, and head of menswear design Pantaleo Dell’Orco has been named Chairman of the Giorgio Armani Foundation, which holds 30% of the group’s voting rights. Dell’Orco already controls an additional 40% of voting rights within the luxury brand.
