Diwali Rush: HRTC to Operate Over 250 Special Buses from Chandigarh and Delhi

Services to run on October 17, 18, and 19

To manage the heavy festive rush ahead of Diwali, the Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) will operate over 250 special buses from Delhi, Chandigarh, and Baddi to various parts of the state.

With passenger demand expected to surge before the festival, the corporation will deploy the additional buses on October 17, 18, and 19 to ensure smooth travel for people returning home for the celebrations.

According to official information, 97 special buses will run on October 1734 from Delhi, 55 from Chandigarh, and 18 from Baddi. On October 18, 106 buses will operate—44 from Delhi, 54 from Chandigarh, and 8 from Baddi. On October 19, six buses from Delhi and 48 from Chandigarh will be added to the schedule. No special services will run from Baddi on that day.

Meanwhile, local bus services will remain suspended from 5 p.m. on Diwali day until 8 a.m. the following morning to facilitate festival-related travel and safety arrangements.
