Man Found Dead in McLeodganj
A 35-year-old man was found dead in a rented room near Tagal Morh, McLeodganj, on Thursday after neighbors noticed a foul smell coming from the premises.
The deceased has been identified as Amit Kumar, a resident of the Cantonment area, who worked at a travel agency in McLeodganj.
According to police sources, Amit had been living alone in the rented accommodation for some time. Neighbors informed the police that he had not been seen for the past five to six days and was not responding to phone calls. Growing suspicious, they alerted the local police.
A police team from the McLeodganj station arrived at the scene and broke open the door. The body was recovered and sent for post-mortem examination.
Police officials said the exact cause of death will be determined after the post-mortem report is received.
