A woman from Maharashtra was killed and her brother injured after their motorcycle collided with a tanker on National Highway-05 near Jeori in Shimla district, police said on Monday.

The deceased, identified as Rachna Sonali (44), a resident of Greater Mumbai, was riding towards Kinnaur district with her brother Chirag Kenima (42) when their bike was hit by the rear wheel of an oil tanker.

Both were part of a tourist group traveling from Shimla to Kalpa, consisting of six motorcycles and two cars. The siblings were reportedly riding at the end of the convoy when the accident occurred.
