Himachal CM Flags Off 14 Fire Tenders Purchased at a Cost of ₹6.70 Crore

Says recruitment process for 700 Home Guards to begin soon
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Thursday flagged off 14 new fire tenders, purchased at a cost of ₹6.70 crore, from the Chaura Maidan in Shimla.
The vehicles have been dispatched to the training centre at Baldeyan and to fire stations located at Deha, Ubadesh, Nerva, and Theog in Shimla district; Dharampur and Thunag in Mandi; Kaza in Lahaul-Spiti; Shahpur and Indora in Kangra; and Nadaun in Hamirpur district.
The Chief Minister said that an additional ₹23 crore has been allocated for the purchase of more fire tenders to further strengthen the fleet. He added that ₹4.24 crore has been sanctioned in the 2025–26 financial year to equip and upgrade fire stations, while ₹7 crore has been earmarked for the construction of departmental buildings in Nadaun and Indora.
Sukhu also announced that the recruitment process for 700 Home Guards will commence shortly.
