Two Killed, Three Injured as Car Plunges into Gorge in Pachhad

Two people were killed and three others injured on Wednesday morning when a car carrying wedding guests skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge in Pachhad, Sirmaur district.

The victims were part of a wedding procession from Gena Bhoomti village in Arki subdivision, Solan district, traveling toward Dhangyar in Pachhad. Around 9 a.m., the vehicle lost control near Kila Kalach on the Nainatikkar–Dhangyar road and plunged nearly 150 meters into a gorge.

Two passengers, identified as Virender and Leela Dutt, died on the spot. The injured were identified as driver Keshav, along with Jaidev and Kamal Chand. Keshav and Jaidev are reported to be in critical condition. After initial treatment, all three were referred to a higher medical center for specialized care.

A police team led by Station House Officer Jai Singh reached the site and began an investigation. Confirming the incident, the SHO said, “The vehicle went out of control near Kila Kalach and fell into a gorge. Two people have died, and three others are injured.”
