Over 500 Roads Still Blocked in Himachal; Rainfall to Continue Until September 23
Bilaspur recorded the highest rainfall of 40.8 mm, followed by 39 mm in Kasauli and 30 mm in Naina Devi, Bilaspur.
Due to heavy rainfall, 519 roads—including two national highways—remain blocked across Himachal Pradesh. Additionally, around 441 power transformers and 274 water supply schemes have been disrupted.
The state is expected to experience light to moderate rainfall until September 23.
According to the State Emergency Operations Center, Mandi has the highest number of blocked roads at 187, followed by Kullu with 156 (including NH-03), Shimla (51), Kangra (33), Chamba (26), Solan (16), Bilaspur and Sirmaur (14 each), Una (13, including NH-503A), Hamirpur (7), and Kinnaur (2), impacting connectivity in several rural areas.
Of the 441 affected electricity transformers, Mandi is the worst-hit with 329 transformers out of service, followed by Kullu (38), Shimla (27), Hamirpur (25), Chamba (21), and Kangra (1), leading to widespread power disruptions in these districts.
Similarly, of the 274 disrupted water supply schemes, Mandi again tops the list with 180 damaged schemes, followed by Shimla (38), Chamba (20), Kangra (16), Hamirpur (15), Solan (4), and Sirmaur (1), affecting drinking water supply in several areas.
Meanwhile, light to moderate rainfall continued in various parts of the state over the past 24 hours.

In the coming days, maximum temperatures are expected to rise by 3 to 4 degrees Celsius, while minimum temperatures are likely to remain steady.
