Rain Likely in All Districts of Himachal Except Lahaul-Spiti and Kinnaur

The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for several districts of Himachal Pradesh, warning of heavy rain, lightning, and thunderstorms at isolated places over the next two days. All districts, except Lahaul-Spiti and Kinnaur, are expected to experience rainfall on one or both days.
Over the past 24 hours, normal monsoon activity was recorded across the state, with light to moderate rainfall in some areas and heavy downpours in others. Mandi district recorded the highest rainfall, followed by Kangra. Despite the rains easing in some parts, more than 500 roads remain blocked. Kullu district faces the highest disruption, with 174 roads affected, followed by Mandi with 133 blocked routes. Additionally, around 953 power distribution transformers (539 in Kullu and 250 in Mandi) are yet to be restored.
Meanwhile, in Kinnaur, the Deputy Commissioner has withdrawn the overnight traffic ban at landslide-prone spots in Nigulsari and Nathpa following improved weather conditions. However, considering the fragile condition of the road at the landslide site in Nigulsari, truck drivers have been directed to carry no more than 400 apple crates in their vehicles. Any truck found violating this order may face fines and will not be allowed to pass through the affected stretch.
