China Suffers $2.8 Billion in Losses from Natural Disasters in August

China faced a direct economic loss of 19.6 billion yuan (approximately $2.75 billion) in August due to natural disasters, the Ministry of Emergency Management reported on Wednesday.

The ministry stated that over 10 million people across the country were affected by floods, droughts, and other disasters last month, while 122 people were either killed or went missing.
