An ambulance carrying a patient and his family members from Jassur in Kangra district met with a tragic accident near Manghuwal, beyond Gagret in Una district, early on Saturday. The vehicle plunged into a deep gorge, resulting in the deaths of three people and injuries to two others.

According to reports, the patient had been referred from Dr. Rajendra Prasad Medical College & Hospital, Tanda, and was being taken to Dayanand Medical College & Hospital in Ludhiana for further treatment.

It is believed that the driver lost control of the ambulance while negotiating a sharp bend, causing it to veer off the road and fall into the gorge.

Three people, including the patient, died on the spot, while two others sustained serious injuries. The injured were rushed to Civil Hospital, Hoshiarpur for medical treatment, and their condition is reported to be stable.

The deceased have been identified as Sanjeev Kumar Pathiyar, Omkar Chand, and Ramesh Chand, all residents of Pathiyar village in Nagrota Bagwan tehsil, Kangra district. The injured have been named as Renu Bala and the ambulance driver, Bobby.

Local police have registered a case and have initiated an investigation into the incident.
