Expedite Relief and Rescue Operations: Himachal CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Sunday reviewed the situation arising from continuous heavy rainfall in Himachal Pradesh and directed officials to accelerate relief and rescue operations across the state.
In a discussion with Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena at his official residence, the Chief Minister said that ensuring people’s safety remains the government’s topmost priority. He appealed to citizens to strictly follow administrative advisories, remain vigilant, and avoid venturing near rivers and streams. He also assured that the state government stands firmly with every affected family.
Sukhu further noted that the Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rainfall for the next three days, adding that several parts of the state are already experiencing torrential rain. He urged people to exercise utmost caution and extend all possible help to those in distress.
On Saturday, the Chief Minister conducted an aerial survey of disaster-hit areas in Chamba and Kangra districts. He was scheduled to visit Kullu district today, but the program had to be cancelled due to bad weather conditions.
