NH-5 in Kinnaur to Remain Closed from 8 PM to 5 AM Amid Landslide Risk
Additional forces to be deployed at vulnerable stretches for traffic control
Kinnaur: In view of recurring landslides and falling boulders in the Nigulsari area of Kinnaur district, National Highway 5 will remain closed to all vehicular movement between 8 PM and 5 AM until further orders.
Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar has directed the Superintendent of Police to deploy adequate forces at landslide-prone spots to regulate traffic and ensure public safety. He has also instructed the SDM of Bhavnagar to arrange proper lighting in the affected areas to strengthen security measures during nighttime.
At present, traffic movement along NH-5 remains obstructed at sliding points in Nigulsari and Nathpa.
