690 Roads, Including Three National Highways, Blocked in Himachal Pradesh
IMD issues orange weather warning for Solan and Bilaspur districts

Torrential rains continued to wreak havoc across Himachal Pradesh on Thursday, leaving 690 roads — including three national highways (NHs) — closed to traffic.
According to the State Emergency Operations Centre, 320 roads in Mandi district, including NH-3, remain blocked. In Kullu, 132 roads are shut, including NH-305. Similarly, 56 roads are blocked in Shimla, 54 in Sirmaur, 34 in Kangra, 30 in Una, 27 in Solan, 19 in Bilaspur, and 15 in Hamirpur. In Kinnaur, three roads, including NH-5, are also closed.
The downpour has severely disrupted essential services. A total of 2,349 power distribution transformers are non-functional — 1,021 in Mandi, 859 in Kullu, 302 in Solan, 98 in Una, 49 in Hamirpur, eight in Kinnaur, and six each in Shimla and Kangra. Additionally, 234 water supply schemes are affected, including 88 in Kullu, 49 in Hamirpur, 33 in Mandi, 18 in Solan, eight in Kangra, three in Sirmaur, and one in Una, causing major inconvenience to residents.
Meanwhile, the weather office has forecast more heavy rainfall across the state. An orange alert has been issued for Solan and Bilaspur districts for Thursday, while a yellow alert is in place for Shimla, Mandi, Hamirpur, Una, Kangra, Kullu, Kinnaur, and Sirmaur.
