Shashi Paul, a dedicated educator from Solan district, has been selected by the Government of India for the prestigious National Teacher Award 2025.

With over 14 years of experience, Paul’s passion for teaching goes far beyond textbooks. His contributions span inclusive education, digital innovation, and community-driven school transformation.

During the Covid lockdown, he organized free online coaching classes for underprivileged students, helping more than 220 children secure admission to Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas and other reputed institutions.

Committed to experiential and child-centric learning, Paul established science and teaching laboratories in rural schools, transforming classrooms into spaces of curiosity and hands-on exploration.

He has also played a key role in curriculum development under the State Council of Educational Research and Training, Solan, and the Samagra Shiksha program—preparing workbooks and training modules that empowered both teachers and students.

Beyond academics, Paul has been instrumental in mobilizing communities to improve school infrastructure. By engaging school management committees, panchayats, alumni groups, and organizations like Rotary and Lions Clubs, he successfully raised resources for initiatives such as building child-friendly toilets, providing safe drinking water, creating green spaces, and establishing a modern computer lab with 10 systems at Government Primary School, Shamror.

These initiatives have not only enriched the learning environment but also boosted enrollment and student strength in government schools.
