Relentless downpours have caused widespread destruction in Kullu district. In Ramshila, two shops were swept away, while several others at Manali’s vegetable market yard were inundated. One person trapped inside the yard was rescued by police and fire service teams.

Deputy Commissioner Torul S. Ravish inspected the rain-hit areas and directed officials to immediately evacuate vulnerable locations. Precautionary evacuations have already begun in Akhara Bazaar and Left Bank Charudu.

“The administration is actively engaged in relief and rescue operations,” Ravish said. “Field officers have been deployed across the district to provide every possible assistance to residents. Anyone in need of emergency support should contact the local authorities without delay.”

Earlier, Bhanga village near Manali was evacuated as a precautionary measure, along with several shops and sections of the local marketplace.

The Beas River and its tributaries are flowing at dangerously high levels, submerging the Bailey Bridge at Patlikuhal. Multiple landslides have blocked the Kullu–Manali highway, though traffic has been temporarily restored via the Left Bank road through Raison.

In Manali, the Old Manali bridge and several pedestrian bridges were washed away. The highway was further disrupted at Raison, near Bindu Dhank and Shirad Resort, due to fresh landslides.

The Deputy Commissioner has appealed to both residents and tourists to remain vigilant, avoid unnecessary travel, and stay away from rivers and streams. Relief and rescue efforts remain in full swing, with field-level officers stationed across the district to provide timely support.
