Himachal Olympian Boxer Ashish Chaudhary’s Wife Wins Gold at Judo Asia Cup

In a historic achievement, Himachal Pradesh’s daughter Inunganbi has brought glory to the state and the nation by winning a gold medal at the Judo Asia Cup, held in Amman, Jordan. With this victory, she has become the first-ever player from Himachal to secure gold in an international judo championship, marking a golden chapter in the state’s sporting history.
The championship took place from August 17 to 20, where Inunganbi competed in four tough bouts. Showcasing exceptional skill and determination, she defeated opponents from Lebanon, Jordan, and Egypt to reach the finals. In the decisive match, she once again outplayed her Egyptian rival to claim the top podium finish.
It is noteworthy that Inunganbi had recently proven her mettle at the national level by defeating Olympian Garima, who was representing Haryana, to become the national champion. That victory boosted her confidence, paving the way for this remarkable international success.
Expressing his pride, her husband and Tokyo Olympian boxer Ashish Chaudhary said that Inunganbi’s achievement is not only a matter of pride for Himachal but also a great source of inspiration for the youth of the entire nation. “She has shown that with hard work and dedication, no dream is impossible,” he remarked.
