Shimla, August 17:
The first organizational meeting of the newly appointed district office-bearers and executive committee members of the BJP’s Sirmaur unit was held on Sunday at the party office in Nahan. District office-bearers and members of the BJP actively participated in the session.

Addressing the concluding session as the chief guest, BJP State President Dr. Rajeev Bindal congratulated the newly appointed team and urged them to work with dedication, perseverance, and discipline, reminding them that under their leadership the party will contest the 2027 Assembly elections.

“India Rising as a Global Power under PM Modi”

Dr. Bindal said it was the nation’s fortune that India, under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is advancing rapidly and emerging as a global superpower while meeting international challenges head-on. He accused opposition parties of deliberately attacking constitutional institutions in an unethical manner to obstruct the nation’s progress.

“Congress Praises EC When It Wins, Questions It When It Loses”

Taking a swipe at the Congress, Dr. Bindal said, “If the Congress wins elections in Himachal or Karnataka, then the Election Commission is efficient and deserves full marks. But the moment they lose in states like Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, or Maharashtra, they turn around and blame the Election Commission for their failures.”

“Three Years of Congress Rule Marked Only by Closures”

Dr. Bindal alleged that the present Congress government has proved to be the most incompetent in Himachal’s history. “In its three years in power, the only consistent action it has taken is shutting down schools, hospitals, tehsils, patwar circles, and discontinuing welfare schemes like Himcare, Ayushman Bharat, and Sahara,” he said.

“Burden of Debt and Taxes on the People”

He further accused the Sukhu government of pushing the state into debt despite borrowing thousands of crores every year. “By imposing additional taxes on diesel and petrol, the government has extracted over ₹5,000 crore directly from the pockets of the people,” he added.

“HRTC Routes Closed, Daily Costs Soaring”

Highlighting public grievances, Dr. Bindal said that the HRTC has shut down more than 300 rural routes, doubled bus fares, withdrawn women’s travel concessions, and drastically increased stamp duty for unemployed youth. “Essential rations from depots have become more expensive, electricity tariffs have skyrocketed, and urban residents now face sharply increased water bills,” he said.

“28 Lakh Women Still Await ₹1,500”

Dr. Bindal charged the government with nepotism and cronyism, saying, “This is a government of friends, by friends, and for friends, while the people continue to suffer. Even today, 28 lakh women in Himachal are waiting for the promised ₹1,500 per month. Each woman is awaiting nearly ₹50,000 in pending dues. Permanent jobs for the unemployed have vanished, leaving youth to struggle on the streets.”

“A Government Built on Lies”

Accusing the Congress of betraying voters, Dr. Bindal said, “The Sukhu government came to power in 2022 on a foundation of lies, deceit, and false promises. Today, it continues to torment the very people who trusted it.”

He called upon BJP workers to strengthen the organization and resolve to uproot what he described as an incompetent Congress regime.

The meeting was also attended by BJP District President Dheeraj Gupta, District Vice-President Pratap Thakur, State Secretary Manish Chauhan, BJP Mandal President Sanjay Pundeer, and other district office-bearers.
