Mandi, August 16

The Chandigarh–Manali National Highway has once again been closed to traffic following multiple landslides triggered by heavy rainfall between Mandi and Panarsa. Major slide-prone stretches affected include 9 Mile, Jagar Nallah, Kainchi Mor near Pandoh Dam, Dayod, Jogni Mata Temple, Dawada Flyover, Jhalogi, and Shani Temple.

In several places, overflowing streams have brought down debris and water directly onto the highway, making it impassable. As a result, many vehicles and commuters remain stranded. Continuous rainfall has delayed clearance operations, which will only begin once the weather improves.

Mandi district has been experiencing relentless rainfall for the past three days. Although the showers have been intermittent, heavy spells have repeatedly triggered landslides, forcing frequent closures of the highway.
