State-Level Independence Day Celebration to be Held in Sarkaghat; Administration in Full Preparation Mode
Mandi, August 12 – The 79th State-Level Independence Day celebration will be hosted this year in Sarkaghat, Mandi district. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu will attend as the chief guest and hoist the national flag. The entire event will take place in the grounds of Sarkaghat School, where preparations are currently in full swing under the supervision of the district administration.
The administration is making every effort to ensure the event is grand and memorable. Parade contingents have already arrived in Sarkaghat and are carrying out daily rehearsals. Extensive arrangements are also being made at the venue for the comfort and convenience of attendees. Although continuous rainfall has posed some challenges, officials and staff are working tirelessly day and night to complete all tasks on time.
Deputy Commissioner Mandi, Apoorv Devgan, expressed pride that the district, and particularly Sarkaghat, has been given the honour of hosting the state-level celebration. “This is a festival of freedom when we remember the sacrifices and contributions of our freedom fighters and bravehearts, whose valour earned us independence,” he said.
He appealed to the people of Sarkaghat and neighbouring areas to participate in large numbers to enhance the dignity of the event. He also urged everyone to join the Independence Day programs held in their respective regions as a mark of respect to the freedom fighters.
