BCS School Tightens Security After Student Kidnapping; No Outings Without Supervision
Shimla, August 11 –
Following the recent kidnapping of three students from BCS School, the school administration has taken significant measures to strengthen its security protocols. At a joint press conference in Shimla, the school authorities and Shimla Urban MLA Harish Janartha announced that the rules for sending children outside the campus, as well as the safety protocols, will be reviewed and made more stringent to prevent any such incident in the future.
The Principal of BCS School stated that no student will be allowed to leave the campus without proper supervision. In particular, rules for sending students outside the city or to other towns will be made stricter. “Although Shimla is considered a safe place, this incident has prompted us to further reinforce our security protocols,” he said.
BCS alumnus and current MLA Harish Janartha recalled that, in the past, students from Class VI onwards were often sent out in groups without a teacher or accompanying staff member. He stressed that the recent incident has made changes to these practices inevitable.
Janartha confirmed that the school management has held meetings on the matter and decided to implement new security measures to ensure such events are never repeated. By doing so, the administration has made student safety its top priority and chosen to amend its safety protocols accordingly.
