Mandi, August 5:
Continuous heavy rainfall in Himachal Pradesh has once again pushed the water level of the Beas River in Mandi beyond the danger mark. The worst impact is being seen in the low-lying areas of the city, including the historic Panchvaktra Mahadev Temple.

On Tuesday, the swollen Beas River surged into the temple courtyard, disrupting daily prayers and sparking concern among devotees and residents alike. The surrounding area of the temple is now waterlogged, although no major damage has been reported so far. The sudden rise in water level is being attributed to the relentless downpour over the past 24 hours. Due to the flooding, routine worship activities at the temple have been temporarily halted.

In response to the situation, the district administration has issued an alert. Surveillance has been intensified in vulnerable low-lying zones, and residents have been urged to remain cautious as a preventive measure.
