Shimla, August 6:
There seems to be no immediate relief from the ongoing spell of rain in Himachal Pradesh. According to the Meteorological Centre in Shimla, inclement weather is likely to persist across the state until August 12. Heavy rainfall has been forecast for several parts of the state on August 8 and 9.

As per the data from the Met Centre, the state has received 34% more rainfall than usual so far in August. Overall, this year’s monsoon has brought 12% above-normal rainfall to the region.

Sandeep Kumar Sharma, a scientist at the Meteorological Centre, stated that rainfall activity is expected to intensify starting August 8. Heavy rain is likely in parts of Una, Chamba, Kangra, Sirmaur, and Solan districts on August 8 and 9. Additionally, reduced visibility is expected in parts of Shimla, Solan, and Sirmaur.

The public has been advised to exercise caution during this period, especially in areas prone to landslides or flash floods.
