Peaceful Youth Protest Gains Momentum in Shimla — Memorandum Submitted Against Job Trainee Policy
Shimla, Himachal Pradesh —
The movement led by the Himachal Unemployed Youth Federation (HUYF) continues to gain ground as the District Coordinator of Shimla, under the banner of the Federation, met with the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Shimla today and formally submitted a memorandum demanding the immediate rollback of the controversial Job Trainee Policy.
With voices of resistance rising from every corner of the state, the protest remains peaceful yet determined. The State Coordinator of the Himachal Unemployed Youth Federation emphasized that the organization is making every possible democratic and constitutional effort to directly reach the Chief Minister.
“Our demand is crystal clear — the rollback of the exploitative Job Trainee Policy and the immediate filling of all vacant government posts. This is not just a demand from our Federation but a cry for justice from lakhs of unemployed youth across Himachal Pradesh,” said the State Coordinator.
District Coordinator Kamal, who led the delegation in Shimla, stated, “We submitted the memorandum with hope, but with firmness. If the government ignores the voice of educated youth today, tomorrow the youth will shake the foundations of silence.”
Shrey Awasthi, the State Coordinator of HUYF, expressed his deep concern over the growing frustration among jobless youth. “This policy is a betrayal to the educated generation of Himachal. We are reaching out to every district and every doorstep to mobilize and awaken youth power. The government must realize — this is not just a protest, it’s a movement for justice.”
The protest has so far seen widespread support from students, educated unemployed individuals, and even homemakers — signaling a growing unrest against policies that allegedly undermine the aspirations of the state’s youth. The HUYF has vowed to continue its campaign across all districts until the demands are met.
