Mandi, Himachal Pradesh —
In a bold move that signals growing unrest among the educated youth of Himachal, the Himachal Unemployed Youth Federation (HUYF) today submitted a memorandum to Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu via the AC to DC Mandi, strongly opposing the controversial Job Trainee Policy.

The memorandum was led by Vishal Mandotra, District President of the Federation’s Mandi unit, who condemned the policy for pushing already-struggling educated youth into a cycle of exploitation and mental distress.

“Policies like these don’t empower youth — they break them mentally after years of hard work and dedication in education,” Mandotra said.

Adding fuel to the growing protest, State Convenor of HUYF, Shrey Awasthi, issued a clear warning to the government:

“If the state government fails to withdraw this exploitative policy, we will ignite a massive youth movement across every district of Himachal — and Mandi will be the epicentre of this awakening.”

Calling the policy “a betrayal of the dreams of Himachal’s youth,” the Federation asserted that today’s youth seek dignity, not charity.

The message is clear: If the government does not listen, the streets of Himachal will speak.

(Views are personal of the author (Shrey Awasthi) and he is currently also the State Convener of Himachal Unemployed Youth Federation (HUYF).
